Hulu has released the official trailer for its upcoming basketball comedy film, ‘White Men Can’t Jump‘, which retells the plot of the iconic 1992 film starring Wesley Snipes as streetballer Sidney Deane and Woody Harrelson as former college basketball player-turned-streetball hustler Billy Hoyle.
The film stars Sinqua Walls as Kamal, a once-promising basketball player whose career was cut short due to injuries, and Jack Harlow as Jeremy, a former basketball star whose career was cut short due to injuries. The trailer, which you can check out below, highlights the banter between the characters:
The plot involves the two men juggling a tense relationship, financial constraints, and internal conflicts. While both ballers seem to be vastly different, they realise they find something in common in the game of basketball.
The film also stars Teyana Taylor, Laura Harrier, Vince Staples, Myles Bullock, and Lance Reddick in addition to Walls and Harlow. The script was written by Kenya Barris and Doug Hall, and the film was produced by Barris and Paul Hall. Executive producers include Blake Gryphon, Ryan Kalil, Noah Weinstein, Calmatic, Doug Hall, E. Brian Dobbins, and James Powers.
White Men Can’t Jump will premiere exclusively on Hulu on 19 May 2023. While we’re HUGE fans of the original, the remake looks like it’ll be a fun watch. But what do YOU think? Let us know in the comments below, on Facebook, or on Twitter.
