Following the success of 2021’s Godzilla vs Kong, which launched the Monsterverse, Legendary Entertainment announced a sequel to the film last year, and we now have an official title. Legendary Entertainment and Warner Bros. Discovery recently released an announcement video for ‘Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire‘, revealing a new apex predator who will serve as the film’s new antagonist. You can check out the teaser below:
The teaser shows the menacing Titan monster sitting on its throne, its piercing blue eyes gazing into the abyss. We can see the bones that surround him as the scene zooms out, most notably Godzilla and King Kong’s glowing skulls.
Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire is expected to pick up where Godzilla vs Kong left off, with Godzilla and King Kong working together to battle a new threat from Hollow Earth. Furthermore, the film will contribute to the Monsterverse’s mythology by delving into the Titans’ and Skull Island’s origins.
Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire, directed by Adam Wingard, will see the return of Rebecca Hall, Bryan Tyree Henry, and Kaylee Hottle, as well as the additions of Dan Stevens, Fala Chen, and Rachel House.
