The next Superman movie, titled ‘Man of Steel’ has already filmed scenes in Plano, IL, Sugar Grove, IL, and is scheduled to begin shooting scenes in Chicago, IL over a ten-day period soon. While we’re excited about the movie, we decided to take a second to express a couple of problems that we’re having with the Man Of Steel movie so far.
First, why the hell is Perry White a black guy? Hollywood seems to have once again lost their minds, trying to be politically correct with its casting choices. This is the same thing that they did with Daredevil, casting Michael Clarke Duncan as The Kingpin, casting Idris Elba as Heimdall in Thor and now they’re doing it with Perry White. Really? Can you really imagine Lawrence Fishburne saying “Great Caesar’s Ghost”? Hollywood, Stop it. We know Fishburne is a great actor, but this is just stupid.
Henry Cavill seems like he’ll do a good job as Superman, given his work in ‘The Tudors’, but what the hell is with his hair? It’s so properly… Coiffed. More like ‘Saturday Night Fever’ meets Superman. And where’s the trademark curl? It’s Superman’s… Um… Trademark. Anyway, we’re still wondering what happened to Brandon Routh. He did an excellent job as Superman/Clark Kent, although he seems to be more of a model than actor. He plays almost all his parts the same way.
Amy Adams as Lois Lane — Excellent choice, casting director! Way better than Kate Bosworth in “Superman Returns”, with her complete lack of a body. At all. Adams is super-hot, and will melt movie screens everywhere. We’d have rather seen Alice Eve, from “She’s Out of My League”, but the lovely Ms Adams is a great second choice.
From what we’ve seen so far of the Man of Steel movie, they’ve totally changed the look of Supes’ costume too, taking away his red undies, and replacing them with… Well, nothing actually. The costume isn’t BAD, but it’s not SUPERMAN’S costume. The whole ‘fish scale’ look with some of the newer designers, is a bit annoying now. It’s like the studios got the same costume designer for Thor, Superman, and the upcoming Spider-Man movie. Stop it. It’s nice to see every once in a while, but NOT for every freaking superhero movie that comes out.
We can only hope that with all the changes Warner Bros is making, the new Man Of Steel movie is good.
