Microsoft announced during the Xbox and Bethesda Showcase on Sunday that Hollow Knight: Silksong, the sequel to the 2017 indie side-scrolling action platformer Hollow Knight, will be coming to Xbox. The day it’s released, it’ll be available on Xbox Game Pass. You can check out the trailer below:
While no official release date has been set, Xbox executive Sarah Bond stated during the event that all of the games shown will be available within the next twelve months. That timeline was confirmed by the official Xbox Twitter account, so we now have a time frame for when we can expect the game.
Microsoft also released a new trailer with new gameplay footage, which you can see at the top of this page. Hollow Knight: Silksong features a new world to explore, new enemies to battle, and a new orchestral score, in addition to allowing you to play as Hornet.
The game, which was originally intended to be DLC for Hollow Knight, was first revealed in February 2019 by Silksong developer Team Cherry. Hollow Knight: Silksong made a second appearance at E3 in 2019, but we haven’t heard much since then.
We got a chance to play the first Hollow Knight back in 2017, and had a great time exploring the game’s huge map, and learning how to overcome the game’s challenging difficulty. Hollow Knight: Silksong has been on our radar since it was first announced in 2019, and we’re excited to get our itchy paws on it as soon as possible.
In addition to the Xbox, the game will be available on the Nintendo Switch, as well as PC, Mac, and Linux platforms.
