Original Jersey Shore Cast Pissed Off About Upcoming Reboot

Did they really think they were gonna do this forever?

MTV recently announced that they would be rebooting ‘Jersey Shore’ with an entirely new cast, and the original cast is NOT thrilled. MTV was blasted for its upcoming reboot by the original stars of the iconic reality show.

‘As a cast that took a chance with a network in need, we put our most vulnerable moments on television for the world to see,’ read a collective statement, which was shared via Twitter on 19 May.

‘We gave our all over the past 13 years, became a family and continue to open our lives to the world,’ the statement continued. ‘So please understand that we are not in support of a version that will exploit our original show, our hard work and authenticity to gain viewers.’

‘Don’t forget to tune into an all new season of Jersey Shore: Family Vacation’, the crew wrote at the end of their post, promoting the upcoming sixth season of their sequel series.

They concluded their message with the hashtag, ‘#WeAreJerseyShore’.

The first iteration of Jersey Shore premiered back in 2009, and the original line-up included Nicole ‘Snooki’ Polizzi, Mike ‘The Situation’ Sorrentino, Pauly ‘DJ Pauly D’ DelVecchio, Vinny Guadagnino, Jenni ‘JWoww’ Farley, Sammi ‘Sweetheart’ Giancola, Ronnie Ortiz-Magro, Angelina Pivarnick, and, of course, the Duck Phone, were among the original cast members of Jersey Shore Season 3 saw Deena Nicole Cortese join the cast.

After six seasons, the show ended in 2012, but the cast reunited in 2018 on ‘Jersey Shore: Family Vacation,’ which is now in its fifth season.

Polizzi, Guadagnino, Farley, 37, Sorrentino, 39, Cortese, 35, Pivanrick, 35, DelVecchio, 41, and Ortiz-Magro, 36, all returned, while the latter’s ex-girlfriend [Giancola] turned down MTV’s offer. Oritz-Magro decided to take a break from the franchise, choosing to sit out for the rest of Season 5 to focus on his mental health.

This lot is clearly delusional, and honestly need to just stop already. Do they HONESTLY think they’re the only ones who can get wasted and cause a scene at a summer house? If life has taught us anything, it is that you can simply hand a bunch of hot people some tequila and start rolling cameras!

To be fair, Snooki did NOT piss on the floor of a bar only to be replaced.

The MTV show ‘Jersey Shore’ isn’t the only one getting a makeover, either. After it’s ‘New Beginnings’ reboot, which starred Heidi Montag, Spencer Pratt, Audrina Patridge, and other original cast members, was cancelled earlier this year, the network plans to reboot ‘The Hills.’

The new cast for ‘The Hills: Next Gen’ is expected to be more diverse than the original.

According to MTV, the show will follow ‘a close group of twentysomething friends and aspiring entrepreneurs coming of age in a very different Los Angeles.’ They will navigate the realities of race, class, identity, addiction, and family drama, as well as the thrills of romance and becoming self-made in Malibu’s exclusive hills.’
