DC Studios just dropped the first trailer for their new movie, originally titled ‘Superman: Legacy,’ now simply titled ‘Superman.’ This is the big kick-off for the new DC Universe, and the Superman trailer has got us super excited (pun totally intended).

The trailer itself is a bit of a tease, but it’s enough to get our blood pumping. We’ve got David Corenswet as the Man of Steel, Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane, and Nicholas Hoult as the villainous Lex Luthor. And the music! They’ve used a modern, rock guitar version of the classic Superman theme from the 1970s and 1980s, and it’s pure nostalgia. Plus, the whole thing looks bright and vibrant – exactly what fans have been craving!

This new Superman world seems pretty cool. It’s not an origin story (thank goodness!), and it looks like Lois and Clark are already an item, and she probably knows about his alter ego, because there’s a kissing scene featuring Superman in normal clothes, without the glasses and haircut he wears as Clark Kent. And get ready for a Superman who’s both loved and hated — a bit of a grey area there.

The supporting cast is stacked too. We also get Edi Gathegi (X-Men: First Class) as Mister Terrific, who Gunn says has a big part to play, plus a whole bunch of other heroes! We’re talking Hawkgirl (Isabela Merced), Green Lantern (Nathan Fillion – YES!), Metamorpho (Anthony Carrigan), and The Engineer (María Gabriela de Faría) — some of whom are expected to reprise those roles in upcoming DC Films projects like The Authority. And… KRYPTO THE SUPER-DOG IS IN IT! Cue the squeals.

With James Gunn at the helm, we’re expecting nothing short of greatness. Check out the trailer above, and mark your calendars for 11th July 2025, because this is gonna be one hell of a ride!
