Paramount Hides Links in Star Trek Into Darkness Trailers

The Star Trek crew hides links to an awesome new poster. Can you find them all?
22 March 2013

The marketing team at Paramount is really kicking things into high gear by once again hiding links in the international versions of the trailer for Paramount and Bad Robot’s upcoming Star Trek Into Darkness. Each link in the trailer leads to a new international poster in that region’s language.

The trailers for the UK and Australia are exactly the same, and the link was hidden in a shot featuring the too-hot Alice Eve. Anyway, here’s the trailer. Check it out:

If you weren’t staring at Alice Eve you would have seen the URL, bit.ly/WyJV4F in the background. Now, no one can blame you if you were distracted by Alice Eve’s ridiculously awesome body (we were), but the URL is back there. The URLs for each version of the international trailer were all hidden in different spots. For instance, the UK and Australia had to try and not stare at Alice Eve (good luck), Brazil had to look over one of the character’s shoulders, and Russia had to look way in the background somewhere.

Director J.J. Abrams is usually pretty secretive about his upcoming movie plots, but he seems to like hiding Easter Eggs, because this isn’t the first time a Star Trek trailer has had a hidden URL in it. There was a website hidden in the trailer for the first Star Trek movie, too. Oh yeah, in case you’re wondering where the link was hidden in the Alice Eve shot, it was on the doorway under the ‘Low Clearance’ sign.

We’d like to thank the wonderful peoples at TrekMovie for finding the links, because to be honest, we’re WAY too lazy for that crap. Great job, guys.

Star Trek Into Darkness hits UK cinemas 17 May 2013 and US cinemas7 May 2013.
