‘Spider-Verse’ Reveals a New Look at Spider-Man 2099

Costume change, or multiverse, power surge, glitch thing?

Needless to say, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse is one of the most anticipated films of the summer. The sequel to 2018’s Oscar-winning Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse will likely outdo it with its plethora of characters, animation styles, and storyline.

The official Twitter account of the film recently posted a new image of Spider-Man 2099, aka Miguel O’Hara, who we originally saw in an end credits scene of Into the Spider-Verse, wearing an orange costume with red and indigo accents. This is a huge difference from the previously seen navy blue outfit with red Spider-Man emblem.

However, looking at the trailer, it just looks like some sort of multiverse, power surge, glitch thing, and not really a costume change. Buuuuuut, it could also be a glimpse of what Spider-Man 2099 looks like in other parallel universes. Who knows, right? We’ll just have to wait and see.

Moving on, Across the Spider-Verse, like its predecessor, will expose us to new Spider-People while also bringing back some familiar ones. O’Hara is responsible for gathering Spider-People from all across the multiverse, including new characters such as Spider-Punk, Jessica Drew aka Spider-Woman, Spider-Man India aka Pavitra Prabhakar, among others.
