Get ready, peoples! Paramount has dropped the first trailer for Sonic the Hedgehog 3. And guess who’s joining the party? Shadow the Hedgehog, Sonic’s infamous nemesis, voiced by none other than John Wick himself, the one and only Keanu Reeves! It looks like we’re in for a wild ride as Sonic explores new corners of the Sega universe.
Remember that post-credits scene in Sonic 2? It teased Shadow’s arrival, and now it’s happening! We don’t have all the details yet, but it’s safe to say things are about to get interesting.
Familiar faces are back too, including Ben Schwartz reprising his role as Sonic, Jim Carrey as the villainous Dr. Robotnik, James Marsden as Tom Wachowski, Tika Sumpter as Maddie Wachowski, and Lee Majdoub as Agent Stone. Plus, Colleen O’Shaughnessey is back as Miles ‘Tails’ Prower, and Idris Elba is returning as Knuckles the Echidna. A new addition to the cast is Krysten Ritter, whose role is under wraps for now.
Speaking of Knuckles, he recently starred in his own Paramount+ series, Knuckles. It followed him as he adjusted to life on Earth after being introduced in Sonic 2. The show also featured Adam Pally as Sheriff Wade Whipple and cameos from Sonic and Tails. In the series, Knuckles agrees to train Wade as his protégé.
So, you can check out the trailer above, and get ready for another thrilling adventure with Sonic and his crew. Sonic the Hedgehog 3 is set to hit cinemas on 20th December 2024, and it looks like it’s going to be a blast!
