In Grudge Match, Robert De Niro and Sylvester Stallone star as old boxing rivals Billy “The Kid” McDonnen and Henry “Razor” Sharp who both come out of retirement for one final match – 30 years after their last match.
Boxing promoter Dante Slate Jr., seeing big dollar signs, makes them an offer: re-enter the ring and settle the score once and for all. But they might not have to wait that long. During their first encounter in decades, their longtime feud blows up into an unintentionally hilarious fight that goes instantly viral. The social media frenzy transforms their local grudge match into a must-see event. Now, if they can just survive the training, they may actually live to fight again.
The comedy is directed by Peter Segal, and featuring a terrific cast with Alan Arkin, Kim Basinger, as well as “The Walking Dead’s” Jon Bernthal and comedian Kevin Hart, we’re excited to check this flick out, for no other reason that we’re HUGE fans of Raging Bull and the Rocky films.
Except for Rocky 5. That was stupid.
