Papo y Yo is a 3D Puzzle-Platforming Adventure for the PlayStation Network (PSN). The game is about a boy called Quico, and his best friend, Monster. Monster is a huge beast with razor-sharp teeth, but that doesn’t scare Quico away from playing with him. That said, Monster does have a very dangerous problem: an addiction to poisonous frogs. The minute he sees one hop by, he’ll grab and eat it, and then fly into a violent rage where no one, including his buddy Quico, is safe. Despite this, Quico still loves Monster and wants to save him. Check out the trailer for Papo & Yo below.
As Quico, players will build their friendship with Monster by solving puzzles together and adventuring through a magical, surrealist world. Players will need to learn to use Monster’s emotions, both good and bad, to their advantage if they want to complete their search for a cure and save their pal.
The world of Papo y Yo was inspired by the childhood of Vander Caballero, Minority’s Creative Director. Drawing on his experiences growing up in South America with an abusive, alcoholic father. Caballero, formerly Design Director at EA Montreal, aims to tell a truly authentic, personal story through Papo y Yo.
