Grant Gustin as The Flash

First Look at CW’s “The Flash”

The Flash is returning to television. 'Bout. Damn. Time.

Warner Bros. Television has just released the first image from its CW pilot The Flash, based on the DC comic. It shows Grant Gustin in full headgear as his character Barry Allen’s super-powered alter ego. The image doesn’t actually show him moving, but you can see that the costume has some awesome detail work. We also don’t know if the costume will have the same fake muscle deal going on with it, like the CBS series.

In the show, scientist Barry Allen (Gustin) is given the power of super speed that transforms him into the Fastest Man Alive, via a few chemicals and a bit of lightning. Allen was introduced on the CW series Arrow this season, which excited the hell out of us, but The Flash won’t make his debut until the pilot.

Joining Gustin in the cast are Jesse L. Martin, Carlos Valdes, Candice Patton and John Wesley Shipp, who played The Flash in the 1990s live-action CBS series (yay!)

Production begins on “The Flash” pilot next week by Bonanza Productions, in association with Berlanti Productions and Warner Bros. Television.

We absolutely CANNOT wait for this to start. We see a LOT of Flash-inspired cosplay hitting the convention scene soon.
