Like Zenovia Cruz, Philadelphia-based model Cristina Popowski, totally surprised us when we received her photos. We were a little confused however, because we thought that she was the most beautifully tanned Polish girl we’d ever seen. Turns out we were kinda right. Cristina was born in Bogota, Colombia and adopted as a baby by a Polish couple. ‘Most people think that I married a guy with that name’, she explained. ‘But, no.’
Cristina says that she occasionally ran into racial tension in school growing up because she was ‘around “white-richy” people’. She says that she always had her brothers to stick up for her, but things picked up for her when her family moved to Philadelphia because she was exposed to different types of people.
Cristina has been modelling for about four years now and is a workout fanatic. Seriously. Like every day in the gym fanatic. She made all of us here feel ridiculously out of shape.

Cristina says that she wants to continue doing print and video work, and eventually appear in more national magazines and bigger artists’ videos. We’re definitely interested in seeing where her modelling career goes.
