Exciting news, fighting game fans! Following in the footsteps of the legendary Terry Bogard, the fiery femme fatale Mai Shiranui is officially joining the Street Fighter 6 roster as part of Season 2 DLC!
While some folks might be a bit on the fence about her initial in-game look (let’s be honest, it’s happened before with other character reveals), the glimpses we’ve seen so far are great. The trailer, primarily showcasing Mai’s interactions within the World Tour mode, gives us a taste of her explosive personality as she effortlessly dispatches a group of hapless ninjas. True to form, Capcom has kept the gameplay reveal under wraps for now, opting for a more gradual unveiling closer to her actual release. But don’t worry, the wait won’t be too long!
Capcom has confirmed that Mai will be dropping sometime in early 2025. While the original Season 2 graphic pegged her for a Winter 2025 release, we can expect her to grace our screens before the end of March. Following the release pattern of previous DLC, we’re likely looking at either a January or early February debut, giving players ample time to master her fiery moveset. Alternatively, Capcom might opt to unleash her post-Capcom Cup 11, which is set to take place in Tokyo from 5th to 8th March 2025.
Either way, get ready to feel the heat! Mai Shiranui is coming to Street Fighter 6, and it’s gonna be absolutely scorching.
