Marvel fans were treated to a thrilling surprise at the D23 Expo: a first look at Daredevil: Born Again. Charlie Cox is back as the Man Without Fear in his first solo series since the original Netflix series. The series is set to premiere in March 2025.
While the footage is still under wraps for now, it looks like it’s going to be a BLAST for fans of the original series. Daredevil is back in action, delivering the trademark blend of skill and brutality we’ve come to expect.
The familiar faces of Karen Page and Foggy Nelson are back, and even Wilson Fisk, looking more like his classic comic book self (instead of whatever the hell was going on in that godforsaken Echo series), is back in the mix.
It looks like Daredevil: Born Again is picking up where the Netflix series left off, because Fisk knows Matt’s secret identity. For those of you familiar with the comics, the series title ‘Born Again’ refers to the 1986 comic book story arc where Wilson Fisk finds out Daredevil’s secret identity, and uses that knowledge to systematically destroy Matt Murdock’s life.
Jon Bernthal’s Punisher is also set to return, which we mentioned last year. However, there’s a twist: he doesn’t remember Matt. Adding to the mystery, the series introduces a potential new vigilante, either White Tiger or Muse. In addition to the core cast, newcomers include Michael Gandolfini, Margarita Levieva, Jeremy Earl and Ayelet Zurer, who takes over the role of Vanessa Marianna-Fisk from Sandrine Holt in the original series.
Like we mentioned, the footage is still under wraps, and no trailer has been officially released yet. With production already underway for Daredevil: Born Again’s second season, the future looks bright for Daredevil in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. In any case, we’ll definitely keep you all posted as we learn more, so stay tuned.
