From 9th to 16th September 2024, fans across the globe cast their votes for their favourites of 2023 in ten entertainment and pop culture categories for the 2024 Chulo Magazine Awards. This annual event celebrates and recognises the best the entertainment industry had to offer in the past year, and the winners are finally in!
Gaming Glory and Big Screen Triumphs
Nintendo dominated the film and gaming categories. The Super Mario Bros. Movie snatched the Best Movie award, beating out strong contenders like John Wick: Chapter 4 and Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse. The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom secured the Best Video Game title.
A First for Country Music
The 2024 Awards saw a historic moment for country music. Luke Combs’ Gettin’ Old took home the award for Best Album, while newcomer Megan Moroney triumphed in the Best New Music Artist category. This marks the first time country artists have claimed victories in these categories.
Model Mayhem and Social Media Success
Cosplayer Elizabeth Rage emerged victorious in the Best Cosplay Model category, fending off stiff competition from Kalinka Fox, Zoe Volf, and Snarky Jay. Cinthia Tapia-Mascorro was awarded Best Glamour Model, while Stormi Maya finally clinched the Best Social Media Model award after being nominated for two consecutive years.
