Nintendo president Satoru Iwata announced a new Fire Emblem game for the Nintendo 3DS today during a Nintendo Direct presentation. The game doesn’t yet have a title (though called Fire Emblem If in Japan), but we do know that it’s developed by the same team that brought you Fire Emblem: Awakening.
Yusuke Kozaki is again on board to helm the game’s character design. The game was said to feature an all new storyline, written by comic book writer Shin Kibayashi. Iwata said that the game will feature a choice system that will have more of an impact than any previous game in the series, saying that “You will make even bigger choices, and the effect of these choices on the world will be greater than ever.”

As far as the gameplay is concerned, this new Fire Emblem game looks similar to 2013’s Fire Emblem Awakening, which was the last game in the series. As with the title, no release date was given for the game but it was promised to be available for all consoles in the 3DS family, including the 2DS, 3DS, 3DS XL, and new 3DS XL.
What do you think? Are you excited about the game?
