Like Lights Over Paris, we had honestly never heard of Shinobi Ninja until they started following Chulo Magazine on Twitter. And just like Lights Over Paris, we’re really glad that they did. You can check out the music video for Shinobi Ninja’s ‘What if Times’ below.
The Brooklyn-based band was formed in 2008, with vocalists Baby G and Duke Sims, bassist Alien Lex, drummer Terminator Dave, Guitarist Maniak Mike and DJ Axis Powers. The band’s music style sounds like a combination of The Beastie Boys, Sublime, 311 and Rage Against the Machine. Since releasing their debut album, “Rock Hood” in 2011, the band has performed alongside a lot of major artists, including George Clinton & Parliament-Funkadelic, Tom Morello, Robert Glasper & Erykah Badu, The Black Keys, Azealia Banks, AFI, Thirty Seconds To Mars, Linkin Park, Trust Company, Mike Posner, Rise Against and a TON more.
Shinobi Ninja also became the first indie band in history to release a game based on their likeness and music, when they released ‘Shinobi Ninja Attacks!’, a Nintendo-style video game album for iPhone, iPod, and iPad back in 2010.
