Warner Bros. dropped the latest trailer for Andy Muschietti‘s ‘The Flash‘ on Tuesday, following a two-hour presentation at CinemaCon 2023. You can check out the trailer below:
The second trailer for The Flash begins and ends, not with Barry Allen, the star of the film, but with Batman. Much like the first trailer, the newest look at the much-delayed DC film is heavy on all of the people that will be accompanying The Flash on his multiversal journey, with a heavy focus on Michael Keaton’s return as Batman, most likely due to Ezra Miller‘s numerous allegations of troubling and violent behaviour.
It’s a great decision on multiple levels, because it makes Miller secondary in the campaign, while also attracting the nostalgic and nostalgic-curious, because Keaton is pretty much everyone’s favourite Batman (we have a poll and everything), and it appears that his version of Batman will play a significant role in the film.
There isn’t much new information in the trailer that we didn’t already know: Barry discovers he has the ability to travel the multiverse and tries to save a version of his late mother in a universe where she is still alive. In doing so, he causes a cosmic chain reaction, forcing him to work with another version of himself, Michael Keaton’s Batman, Supergirl (Sasha Calle), and Ben Affleck‘s Batman to stop General Zod (Michael Shannon) from Man of Steel.
You’ll notice all sorts of details in the new footage, such as the classic blue-and-grey bat-suit among many in the Batcave, but mostly the trailer is here to go big, bright and colourful, as The Flash attempts to end one era of DC movies by celebrating all of them.
The Flash hits cinemas on 16 June 2023. To us, the film looks like it’ll be one of the best Batman films ever made, but what do YOU think? Let us know in the comments below, on Facebook, or on Twitter.
