You know something? There are honestly WAY too fucking many movies coming out in the summer of 2013 to keep up with. With the cinematic year officially getting underway with the release of Iron Man 3 on May 3rd, followed pretty damned quickly by Man of Steel, the ball doesn’t seem like it’s going to stop rolling there. So here’s our summer 2013 movie list of some of the movies that will damn near guarantee that we’re broke this summer.
Iron Man 3
We’ve all been waiting patiently for this movie to come out since we first heard about it, especially with Marvel Studios going for a darker-toned style this time around. Director Shane Black hasn’t disappointed us with any of his films to date, so we really don’t think it’s going to happen here. We will say that they do have us a bit worried with all of the trailers that they’ve been showing, but we hope that they’re saving their best stuff for theatres.
Man of Steel
If the trailers prove anything, it’s that Warner Brothers has FINALLY given us a Superman to be proud of. There wasn’t anything really wrong with 2006’s Superman Returns, but we didn’t feel like the movie overall was, um — Super enough. We really do think that they’ve fixed that here, bringing in Zach Snyder to helm this reboot of the Superman franchise.
Star Trek: Into Darkness
Two words: Alice Eve. We’re kidding, but seriously, we’ve been waiting two years for this movie to come out, and it looks absolutely AMAZING. There are already some people that are less than thrilled about the newest instalment to the Star Trek reboot, but we’re anxious to see what Alice Ev– um, the Star Trek crew has in store for us.
Pacific Rim
People of Earth, we give you – Gundam! When we saw the trailer for this flick, we were absolutely FLOORED. So far, this looks like this definitely going to be the start of something big. And because we are all fans of B.F.R’s we’re going to be keeping our eyes on this one.
