Hollywood has lost yet another legend. Actor Ray Liotta has died at the age of 67. According to Deadline, Ray Liotta passed away in his sleep in the Dominican Republic while filming his new film ‘Dangerous Waters’. There are no further details about Liotta’s death, including the cause of death, available at this time.
Reports say the death was not suspicious, and that no foul play is suspected. While he was working on the project, he was accompanied by his fiancée Jacy Nittolo.
Liotta is best known for his role as mobster Henry Hill in Martin Scorsese’s 1990 masterpiece ‘Goodfellas’, alongside Robert De Niro and Joe Pesci. Ray fought hard for the part, and the film’s success opened so many doors in Hollywood for him that he worked almost nonstop.
He co-starred with Kevin Costner in another iconic film, ‘Field of Dreams’, the year before Goodfellas, in which he played ‘Shoeless’ Joe Jackson.
Ray starred in a slew of other films, including ‘Cop Land’, ‘Corrina Corrina’, ‘Operation Dumbo Drop’, ‘Unforgettable’, ‘Wild Hogs’, and ‘Blow’, in which he played Fred Jung, George Jung’s father.
He had undergone a resurgence in popularity in recent years, starring in films such as The Sopranos prequel The Many Saints of Newark (in which he played two roles) and the Noah Baumbach film Marriage Story.
From his previous marriage to Michelle Grace, he is survived by his daughter, Karsen Liotta. Karsen wants to be an actress like her father.
