Disney has dropped the first Strange World trailer for the upcoming animated film, and it looks like a pulp paperback novel cover brought to life. With gooey aliens, walking mountains, and a slew of other sci-fi oddities, it looks as beautiful as it does strange.
You can check out the Strange World trailer below:
Disney describes Strange World as a story that ‘journeys deep into an uncharted and treacherous land where fantastical creatures await the legendary Clades, a family of explorers whose differences threaten to topple their latest — and by far — most crucial mission.’
Strange World stars Jake Gyllenhaal and features some notable directors, including Don Hall (Big Hero 6, Raya and the Last Dragon) and Qui Nguyen (co-director and writer of Raya and the Last Dragon), and produced by Roy Conli (Big Hero 6, Tangled).
Strange World is set to debut on 23 November 2022, though it’s unclear whether it’ll be a theatrical release or a Disney Plus premiere. Meanwhile, if the trailer didn’t give you enough pulp sci-fi vibes, check out the poster below:
