We were playing DC Universe last night, and realized that we had never done a cosplay article for Power Girl. And she’s way too hot for us not to have thought of it already. So we decided to change that, and started looking around for Power Girl cosplay for photos of some of the hottest Power Girl cosplayers, and we found a few really nice ones.
For those of you that don’t know anything about DC Comics’ resident bombshell, here is some info:
Power Girl, whose real name is Kara Zor-El, made her first appearance in All Star Comics #58, in 1976. She is the “Earth-Two” counterpart of Supergirl and the first cousin of Kal-El (Superman). Like Superman, Power Girl’s parents sent her in a rocket to escape the destruction of Krypton. Although she left the planet at the same time that Superman did, her ship took a lot longer to reach Earth.
Power Girl has all of Superman’s powers, including super strength, flight, super speed, invulnerability, x-ray, telescopic, microscopic and heat vision, freeze breath, and super-hearing. As far as the cleavage-showing awesomeness of her costume goes, there have been a few different stories from a few different writers, but our favourite came from writer Geoff Johns, in JSA: Classified #2. He had Power Girl explain her cleavage window to Superman, saying ‘the first time I made this costume, I wanted to have a symbol, like you. I just… I couldn’t think of anything. I thought eventually, I’d figure it out. And close the hole. But I haven’t.’
We’re not complaining.
