Because of some technical issues players have been having during these first days of GTA Online, Rockstar Games is planning to drop a half million GTA$ into the GTA Online bank accounts of all players this month, starting as early as 14th October 2013.
In order to keep the worldwide in-game economy balanced, Rockstar will be providing two deposits of $250,000 to players. Rockstar will be announcing specific dates as soon as possible, but are hoping to be able to make the first deposit by the end of the week 14th October 2013 (after Rockstar has confirmed that the issues that are causing game progress loss have been fixed), with the second instalment happening by the end of the month.
For players who have experienced cloud server errors, connection issues, lost game progress and characters in these first days of GTA Online, Rockstar hopes that the money will help with a fresh start or make players’ lives in Los Santos and Blaine County extra sweet. Just don’t spend it all in one place!
Here are a few more details on how it will work. Stay tuned for tips on how to make the most of GTA$ cash, info on ways and places to earn more cash fast, as well as updates on all the new GTA Online content additions Rockstar is working on.
- You must play or have played Grand Theft Auto Online at any time during the month of October 2013 in order to qualify for the GTA$500,000 deposit in your in-game bank account.
- Players will first have to install an upcoming GTAV title update which Rockstar expects to happen the week of 10/14/2013. The title update (1.04) is expected to fix the remaining issues that have caused vehicle purchase loss and will also enable the functionality that Rockstar will be using to give the GTA$ stimulus cash to players.
- Rockstar will announce each deposit on the Rockstar Newswire as they’re made.
Each of the two GTA$250,000 deposits will be made by Rockstar and should automatically appear in the in-game GTA Online bank accounts of eligible players. Beyond downloading the upcoming title update we mentioned, there shouldn’t be any additional actions needed by eligible players to get their money.
