From 3 April to 20 April 2020, fans around the world voted on their favourites of the past year across ten categories for the 2020 Chulo Magazine Awards — the annual event that honours and recognises the best of the past year in the entertainment industry — and the winners were announced today.
Joker was voted Best Movie by Chulo Magazine readers, a surprising win over three Marvel movies including Spider-Man: Far from Home and Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse. The award for Best Video Game went to Kojima Productions’ Death Stranding, barely beating Respawn Entertainment’s Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order.
Other notable winners for this year’s awards included rapper Megan Thee Stallion for Best New Music Artist, model Monifa Jansen, cosplayer Chono Black, and Thatgamecompany’s Sky: Children of the Light.
