Warner Bros has dropped a new trailer for Shazam! Fury of the Gods. This time around, Shazam is questioning his place in this world as a superhero, while he and his foster siblings struggle to find a balance between being teenagers and their heroic alter egos. When the Daughters of Atlas, a malevolent trio of ancient gods, arrive on Earth, the kids find themselves in a fight for their superpowers, their lives, and the fate of the world. You can check out the new trailer below:
Zachary Levi reprises his role as Shazam, and Asher Angel returns as Billy Batson. During the film’s panel at the SDCC (San Diego Comic-Con) back in July, it was revealed that Fury of the Gods will have a time jump between the first and second movies, and that the adult versions of Billy’s foster siblings would have more screen time.
Adam Brody, Meagan Good, Ross Butler, Grace Currey, and D.J. Cotrona reprise their roles as the adult superhero versions of Freddy Freeman, Darla Dudley, Eugene Choi, Mary Bromfield, and Pedro Peña, respectively. Franchise newcomers and troublemakers Helen Mirren, Lucy Liu, and Rachel Zegler play take on the roles of the Daughters of Atlas, goddesses Hespera, Calypso, and Antaeus, respectively.
The Shazam! Fury of the Gods trailer comes as new DC executives James Gunn and Peter Safran prepare to announce the brand’s future plans later this month, and the fate of Levi as Shazam! in future films is unclear.
